Abstract: 

Introduction: Carney complex is an autosomal dominant syndrome that is defined with different tumors including myxoma in different organs, endocrine tumors and lentiginosis lesions. This is the first case report of this syndrome from Iran.Case: The patient is a 27 year old girl, referred with flank pain. Physical examination revealed hirsutism, truncal obesity, hyperpigmantasion and hypertension; Cushing's syndrome was suggested and confirmed with related classic biochemical tests. She had history of cardiac myxoma during her childhood and had been operated twice.Pituitary microadenoma and right adrenal adenoma were reported on MRI and CT-scan, respectively. Initially laparascopic right adrenalectomy was done; as expected, no remission in signs of Cushing's syndrome was observed after surgery. By laparoscopic adrenalectomy of the other site, Cushing's syndrome resolved. Pathologic report of 1st operation was adrenal adenoma with surrounding pigmented micronodular hyperplasia and of the 2nd one was just pigmented micronodular hyperplasia.Conclusion: We have reported a patient with Carney syndrome along with Cushing's syndrome due to bilateral adrenal hyperplasia and an adenoma in contralateral adrenal and microadenoma of the pituitary as an incidentaloma. This is a new presentation of Carney syndrome.

Abstract: 

The aim of the present work is to use the spectral method to plot the dispersion curves of ultrasonic guided waves in anisotropic pipelines. We begin by describing the mathematical formulation of the problem, followed by the application of the spectral method algorithm to plot these curves, covering different levels of anisotropy to test the robustness of the method to various mechanical behaviors. Particular attention is paid to complex modes, poorly studied in the pipeline literature. Results are compared with analytical solutions, and computation time and coding effort are also compared with those of previous analytical methods. These studies demonstrate the significant advantage of the spectral method in terms of accuracy efficiency and computational time savings for plotting the dispersion curves of complex modes in anisotropic pipelines.

از زمانی که برای اولین بار اختلال حرکتی که امروزه تحت عنوان DVD شناخته می شود، گزارش شد بیش از یک قرن می گذرد. طی این مدت محققین مختلف آن را مورد بحث قرار داده و تئوری های متعددی را برای بروز آن قایل شده اند. با توجه به این که DVD همیشه یکی از مشکلات تشخیصی و درمانی در بیماران استرابیسم می باشد، در مقاله ای که پیش رو دارید تلاش شده است مجموعه ای از این تحقیقات و تئوری ها ارایه گردد.

Abstract: 

This paper represents a model of strategic programming with limited resources in a complex supply chain. The main goal of the proposed model is to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the supply chain with respect to income increases and cost decreases. Using special objective functions, has guaranteed the lean supply, production, distribution and suppliers' selection strategies. Furthermore, it can use for production programming in the supply chain. Moreover, customer satisfaction has also been perceived, by using minimization objective functions of shortage amount and restrictions of maximum allowed shortage. In this model, objective functions have been defined in a way, which directs the supply chain to the lean. Finally, after determining strategies according to objective functions and constraints, the optimal strategies using multi-criteria decision making - ELECTRE process- have been chosen.

Abstract: 

Cylindrical steel above ground tanks extensively used in oil refinery complexes and oil depots in Iran. Past earthquake experiences in Japan, U.S.A, and Turkey show that these tanks are very vulnerable to strong ground motions and the study of the vulnerability and strengthening of these tanks are very important. In this paper, 5 steel above ground tanks with different ratio of height to diameter (HID) have been studied and different failure mechanisms including elephant foot buckling, diamond elastic buckling, failure of roof due to fluctuation of fluid, sliding, overturning, up lift and unsymmetrical settlement were assessed using nonlinear analyses. International documented references such as ASCE and API650 standards and static, modal, spectral (linear) and time history (nonlinear) analyses is used in this study. Results of the analytical study show that the minimum tree board of tanks should be 13 percent of the tank Height to avoid of roof damage during an earthquake. In addition, tanks with a height to diameter ratio greater than 1.0 are unstable with the problem of overturning. Other failure mechanisms mentioned above are not dominant in the case studied tanks.

UNTIL NOW, MANY ATTEMPTS HAVE BEEN MADE ON DESIGNAND SYNTHESIS OF COORDINATION COMPOUNDS INCORPORATING PYRIDINE-2,6-DICARBOXYLIC ACID (DIPICOLINIC ACID, PYDCH2) [1]. THIS MAGIC AND SIMPLE ORGANIC COMPOUND CAN POSSESS MULTIFARIOUS BEHAVIOR WHICH HAS BEEN ALLUDED IN THELAST PAPERS [2].THE CAMBRIDGE STRUCTURAL DATABASE (CSD) ANALYSIS OF DIPICOLINATE COORDINATION modes, WHICH HAS BEEN PERFORMED IN THIS PAPER, REVEALS BEHAVIOR DIVERSITY OF THIS MAGIC LIGAND TO METAL CENTERS. IN ACCORDING TO OUR STUDY, 52 COORDINATION modes FOR PYDCH2 EXIST IN COORDINATION COMPOUNDS THAT LEAD TO CREATE VERSATILE STRUCTURES AND TOPOLOGIES. Abstract: 

Introduction: Men with unexplained infertility and azoospermia are often observed in the context of genetic defects. The expression of a wide variety of genes is developmentally regulated  during human meiosis. Synaptonemal Protein 3 (SYCP3) gene, located on chromosome 12, encodes a DNA-binding protein as the structural component of the synaptonemal complex,which mediates the synopsis or homologous pairing of chromosomes during meiosis. Absence of SYCP3 in mice may lead to male infertility as well as female sub-fertility. SYCP3 expression analysis could be a tool for the prediction of human spermatogenesis progression, especially in infertile men.Materials & Methods: SYCP3 mRNA expression in testicular samples of 110 patients with non-obstructive azoospermia were studied in Avesina Infertility Clinic in Tehran, Iran during 2005 and early 2006. Semi-quantitative nested reverse transcriptase-PCR was employed in order to find the strength of gene expression. Using histopathological scoring for all samples, the expression level of SYCP3 during spermatogenesis was also evaluated.Results: Testicular SYCP3 mRNA expression was observed in 67 patients (60.9%). The expression level correlated with the degree of spermatogenic failure (p<0.0001). While this gene had been expressed in patients with hypo-spermatogenesis and maturation arrest, a lack of expression was seen in those with spermatogonial arrest, Sertoli cell-only syndrome and testicular atrophy.Conclusion: These data indicate that SYCP3 is expressed in the human testis and it is restricted to germ cells. Our findings, in association with those obtained in experimental animals, show that lack of SYCP3 expression may have negative effects on spermatogenesis and male fertility. SYCP3 gene expression may help detect specific spermatogenesis stages in conjunction with histopathological findings.
